MISSION STATEMENT

We will create an environment – centered on children – in which to nurture their innate love of learning. Building upon the foundation provided by each child’s family, we will become an extension of that family, joyfully encouraging individuality and respect.

PHILOSOPHY

All that we do is in the context of our overall philosophy. We believe that when guided by caring adults in a creative environment, children happily and naturally learn on their own initiative.

  • Put them in the right place.
  • Show them the right direction.
  • Set them free.
  • They will laugh.
  • They will learn.

We also believe that:

  • Children learn best with a sense of wonder, joy, and tranquility.
  • Each child is unique, and adults should recognize and accommodate their individual tendencies and needs.
  • Parents are the most significant adults in a child’s life, and school should be a partnership that works with and supports each family.
  • Nature is a treasure and the outdoors is a wonder-filled classroom.

GOALS

1. Employ a staff that believes in our philosophy and is committed to our mission.
2. Create indoor rooms and outdoor grounds that free our children to act upon their love of learning.

FACULTY

The role of the teacher in a Montessori classroom is to direct a child’s natural enthusiasm and energy for learning. The teacher’s respect for and confidence in each child fosters the child’s desire to learn for “the joy of learning” rather than the end result. Our head teachers are trained and certified in the Montessori Method. Above that, they truly love and enjoy children.
